Katy Fry partners with local charity to promote office opening
When discussion began regarding the planning of a promotion to draw attention to the opening of Dr. Lori Shulman's TSO Katy Fry office, Jami Clevenger with Rhymes Marketing and Advertising proposed a partnership with a local charity - Katy Christian Ministries (KCM), a well recognized and active non-profit organization.
The promotion focused on patents - new or returning - who came in during a three day promotion period. If the patient had an eye exam and purchased a pair of prescription glasses, Dr. Shulman donated to KCM a voucher for an exam and a pair of prescription glasses for each patient during the three day campaign.
Promoting the campaign was easy and very cost effective since communication was delivered through e-blast emails to KCM members and donors, Facebook, Pay-Per-Click and word of mouth. Over 225,000 views of the ad posted on Facebook alone were recorded! The total cost for the Facebook program was $125.00 - a great return on a small investment.
An evening event celebrating the promotion was well attended and Dr. Shulman was giving her first promotion-related exam at the start of the evening activities. Dr. Shulman showed an approximate 40% increase in the number of patients on Saturday, the last day of the three day promotion.
Dr. Shuman said, "What is even more important is the good will that the promotion created in our community and the exposure of our office and services to people in the Katy area. Simply hearing about this event put Fry Road TSO's name in front of many people and in a very positive light."
For example, Dr. Shulman's first patient during the promotion works at an area hospital. He had worn the same pair of tired old glasses for eight years and hadn't had an eye exam in that long! He bought a new pair of OGA's and was very pleased; he will have lots of opportunities to tell his co-workers about his TSO experience.
Every office can develop a community partnership promotion to promote their business and to demonstrate that they are committed to the success of their community. You can also volunteer for non-profits that have fundraisers or give product to silent auctions. These are powerful ways of showing you care more about your patients than simply writing a check.
